Pet Care

VACCINATIONS: We recommend and provide important vaccinations to protect your pet’s health and that of your family. Our vaccine recommendations are tailored to the needs of you and your pet.

DENTAL CARE: We recommend regular dental care for pets, including dental cleaning. Dental disease is a painful condition. Dental care becomes especially important as your pet ages, when other health problems can be caused or complicated by dental disease such as endocarditis, other heart diseases, and kidney disease.

PET TIPS: **If you have a dog you are planning on breeding-start feeding a good name brand puppy food(wet or dry). This will ensure a good milk production, healthy puppies and ensure that the mama dog will stay healthy and strong.

HEARTWORMS: Here in South Texas, with our tropical climate, mosquitos are here year round. Heartworm disease develops when a mosquito that has been infected with the heartworm larvae bites a dog. Even if the dog is indoors most of the time they still can be infected. Adult heartworms can grow up to a foot long and can cause lung disease and heart failure. This is a preventable disease! We have many products that can prevent heartworm development in your pet.The test is a simple blood test, that takes just 10 minutes. Come and see us so we can start prevention. Even in winter your pet still needs protection.

You will need:
1 quart of hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup of baking soda
1 tsp of liquid dish soap. Mix all together in a gallon jug, fill with warm water. Shampoo pet with a dish soap, rinse well. Pour skunk dip over pet and let sit for 20-30 minutes and then rinse well. Depending on how concentrated the skunk smell is, you may have to do the dip twice or leave the dip on longer. Good Luck!
